AFIS manages, collects, and recycles all batteries up to 5 kg/battery. For larger batteries, you should contact Combatt or Rebattery.

Swollen batteries are usually lithium batteries found in mobile phones, computers, power banks and rechargeable devices in general. Due to battery chemistry, they can explode and catch fire, so proper handling, transport and recycling is important.

In case the battery is swollen follow the steps below:

  1. Wrap the battery with tape
  2. Fill a box with sand (from the beach or the cat litter)
  3. Place it in a box (ideally metal, but paper is also sufficient)
  4. Close the box tightly and take the battery to a KOTSOVOLOS store
  5. Notify the KOTSOVOLOS staff to call us directly so that we can carry out the collection

In case the swollen battery has burst and fluids have come out, follow the steps below:

  1. Fill a box with sand (from the beach or the cat litter)
  2. Place it in a box (ideally metal, but paper is also sufficient)
  3. Close the box tightly and take the battery to a KOTSOVOLOS store
  4. Notify the KOTSOVOLOS staff to call us directly so that we can carry out the collection
